What Was Going On with Sheree Fitch
Highlights 2009Moving was more chaotic than we ever expected .. and I gave up updating this website. I really did not know where I was when , what bed, what city, which ocean, going with the flow the flow..did I? Me who says embrace change, changed my mind. I am happy to be nidyifying once again. Nidification. Good word. So many of you made the year in all its mixedness somehow manageable. From my new friends in China, to old pals in Lakefield, golfing for literacy, my cuzins in Milton, new found friends in workshop classes and the new hood, from Dragons published again to Kisses Kisses Baby-o translated into French and Mi'kmaw.
So here is my nutshell madcap recap riff: Saw Obama, happy happy, went to China. It was wild! Met new writers, drank with dear ones, finishing novel, had new grandchild. Finishing novel, sold a house. Kept on packing, cried goodbyes, went Chesapeake sailing, bought a condo, kept unpacking. finishing novel. Gilles retired, we perspired, I inspired, moved to cabin, canoed and slept. Prayed and played. Raised some money, went to readings, did some speeches, launched some books, Tatamagouche teaching. Lost dear friends. Walked and wept. Time with herons. Sometimes, skunks. Found new coffeeshop, played with babies, that was best! Good -bye 2009! Good bye. ( still finishing novel -yes same one. )I would say maybe the MOST discombobulating year of my life. My mantra became we move on, we move on. We keep moving on. Yes — happy to embrace the new! I welcome a routine with some same old same old! but ...verrrry good to be home!
